Experienced Staff

Our Experienced Staff The Blanchard Valley Regional Cancer Center's qualified staff includes five board certified radiation therapists who deliver treatment, as well as two radiation therapy nurses who monitor potential side effects. A full-time dosimetrist and a physics support team assist in treatment planning and daily monitoring of our equipment. Together with our office staff, these individuals provide the knowledge and compassion that result in quality care, with a human touch. Our staff works closely with other specialties to provide comprehensive services including nutritional support, physical and lymphedema therapy, social services, and spiritual support to meet the additional needs of our patients.

Terms:

Therapist - Someone specially trained in the delivery of radiation treatments for cancer.

Dosimetrist - Someone with expertise in the planning and calculation of dosage for radiation treatments.

Medical Physicist - Someone who monitors the safety and accuracy of radiation equipment, and provides additional quality assurance for dose calculation and treatment.

Oncology Nurse - Someone with expertise in monitoring and managing both symptoms related to cancer and side effects of treatment.
